Responsibility
- Conduct advanced research on multifunctional concrete materials, including formulation, testing, and performance analysis.
- Develop and optimize concrete mixtures with self-healing, energy-harvesting, or sensing capabilities for smart infrastructure applications.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments, including mechanical, durability, and microstructural characterization tests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate novel materials into practical engineering solutions.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data using statistical and computational tools.
- Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations for peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Assist in securing research funding by contributing to grant proposals and industry partnerships.
- Mentor junior researchers and students, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven research experience in concrete technology, advanced materials, or smart infrastructure.
- Strong background in experimental testing, material characterization (e.g., SEM, XRD, mechanical testing).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW) and finite element modeling (e.g., ABAQUS, COMSOL).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of publications in high-impact journals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards (e.g., LEED, Green Mark) and circular economy principles is a plus.
- Experience with nanomaterials, fiber-reinforced composites, or 3D-printed concrete is highly desirable.
