Responsibility
- Conduct in-depth research on maritime energy systems, including alternative fuels, propulsion technologies, and energy efficiency optimization.
- Develop and evaluate sustainable solutions for reducing carbon emissions in the maritime industry, aligning with international regulations (e.g., IMO 2030/2050).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, policymakers, and industry partners, to design and implement pilot projects.
- Author high-impact research papers, technical reports, and policy briefs for publication in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences.
- Analyze data from maritime operations, energy consumption, and environmental impact assessments using advanced modeling and simulation tools.
- Support the development of grant proposals and funding applications to secure research funding from government agencies and private stakeholders.
- Present research findings to academic, industry, and regulatory audiences through workshops, webinars, and stakeholder meetings.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in maritime sustainability, including green hydrogen, ammonia, LNG, and electrification technologies.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Maritime Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in maritime or energy research, preferably with a focus on sustainability, decarbonization, or renewable energy integration.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R) and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, OpenFOAM).
- Familiarity with maritime industry standards, regulations, and frameworks (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of publishing research in reputable journals or presenting at conferences.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with global teams.
- Experience with project management, grant writing, or stakeholder engagement is a plus.
