This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from the vibrant locations of Bali, Indonesia, including Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, and more.

As a key member of our healthcare revenue cycle team, you will analyze complex inpatient medical records, assign precise ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes, and validate DRG assignments to optimize reimbursement and compliance. Responsibility

  • Review and analyze inpatient medical records to extract relevant clinical data for accurate coding.
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes in compliance with official coding guidelines (e.g., AHA, CMS).
  • Validate Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) assignments to ensure proper reimbursement and avoid denials.
  • Conduct SOB (Statement of Benefits) audits for high-volume cases, identifying discrepancies and resolving coding errors.
  • Collaborate with clinical documentation improvement (CDI) teams to clarify ambiguous or incomplete documentation.
  • Stay updated on coding regulations, payer policies, and industry best practices to maintain compliance.
  • Utilize encoding software (e.g., 3M, Epic, Cerner) and electronic health records (EHR) for efficient workflow management.
  • Prepare and submit coding reports and metrics to support performance tracking and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or RHIT/RHIA credential required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of inpatient medical coding experience, with expertise in DRG validation and SOB processing.
  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems and familiarity with MS-DRG, APR-DRG methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology to interpret complex clinical documentation.
  • Experience with coding audits, compliance checks, and denial management in a high-volume setting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills to meet productivity and accuracy targets.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and coding software (e.g., 3M, Optum).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with reliable internet connectivity and a distraction-free workspace.
