Responsibility
- Provide peer-to-peer clinical support to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify and validate medical records.
- Conduct thorough reviews of patient charts to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
- Facilitate communication between clinical and revenue cycle teams to resolve documentation issues.
- Participate in training and mentoring sessions to enhance team knowledge and performance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, coding standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue cycle management.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Active USRN (United States Registered Nurse) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience with medical coding, documentation review, or revenue cycle management is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
