Responsibility
- Supervise and coordinate the receiving, unloading, and inspection of incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Lead and train a team of receiving associates to maintain high productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and invoices, resolving discrepancies with suppliers as needed.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of received goods to facilitate efficient inventory management and retrieval.
- Collaborate with the inventory and sales teams to prioritize the placement of goods in the selling area based on demand and shelf-life.
- Maintain accurate records of received shipments, including quantities, conditions, and any issues encountered.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to receiving, handling, and storing merchandise.
- Monitor and report on receiving metrics, such as turnaround time and accuracy, to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within retail logistics, receiving, or inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, supply chain processes, and inventory control systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and optimize receiving processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers, internal teams, and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a retail or warehouse setting.
