Responsibility
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming merchandise against purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Organize and stage deliveries by department, marking items appropriately for efficient placement in storage or direct distribution.
- Maintain meticulous records of inventory, including quantities, locations, and condition of stock, using digital or manual systems.
- Coordinate with procurement, kitchen, and housekeeping teams to fulfill internal requests and restock supplies promptly.
- Operate material-handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, dollies) safely to transport heavy or bulky items.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies, minimize waste, and report shortages or overstock situations.
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards, ensuring storeroom areas are clean, orderly, and compliant with Marriottâs policies.
- Assist in the rotation of stock (FIFO/LIFO) to prevent spoilage or obsolescence, particularly for perishable items.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, or inventory management, preferably in hospitality or retail.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot errors in shipments, labels, or documentation.
- Physical stamina to lift and move items up to 25 kg (55 lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., Opera, Micros) or MS Office (Excel for tracking).
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise with suppliers, colleagues, and managers.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, based on operational needs.
- Familiarity with HACCP or other food safety standards is advantageous for perishable goods handling.
