Responsibility
- Operate reach stacker equipment to lift, move, and stack containers and heavy cargo in port or logistics facilities.
- Ensure safe and efficient loading/unloading of containers from trucks, trains, or ships.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to verify functionality and report any mechanical issues.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper signaling, load securing, and adherence to weight limits.
- Coordinate with ground crew, crane operators, and logistics teams to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of container movements, positions, and inventory using digital or manual systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on reach stacker equipment as required.
- Adhere to environmental and regulatory compliance standards in port operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience operating reach stackers, forklifts, or similar heavy machinery in a port, logistics, or warehouse setting.
- Valid certification for operating heavy equipment (e.g., reach stacker license) is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of container handling, stacking techniques, and load balancing principles.
- Excellent spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work in confined or high-traffic areas.
- Familiarity with port operations, shipping terminology, and safety regulations (e.g., ISPS Code, OSHA standards).
- Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods.
- Basic English proficiency for communication with international teams and documentation.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
