Responsibility

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of shipbuilding and repair work to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, material quality, and workmanship of structural components, welding, painting, and other shipyard operations
  • Identify defects, non-conformities, and areas for improvement, documenting findings with detailed reports and photographic evidence
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence of quality issues
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of vessels, equipment, and systems before delivery to clients
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test reports, and quality documentation for audit purposes
  • Participate in safety meetings and promote a culture of quality awareness among shipyard personnel
  • Stay updated with industry standards, classification society requirements, and emerging quality control technologies

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a QC Inspector in shipbuilding, marine construction, or related heavy industry
  • Technical diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes, welding techniques, and marine coatings
  • Familiarity with international maritime standards (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's, IMO) and classification society requirements
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Experience with quality control tools and equipment (ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality excellence
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal) with ability to prepare clear technical reports
  • Physical ability to work in shipyard environments, including climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces
