Responsibility
- Conduct thorough canvassing and sourcing of requested items from Production and other departments to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to seek approval for procurement decisions and ensure alignment with company policies and budgetary constraints.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms, pricing, and quality for materials and services, fostering long-term partnerships.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure optimal stock availability without overstocking or shortages.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and cost-effectiveness, and recommend improvements or alternatives as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the manufacturing or food industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations and best practices is an advantage.
