Responsibility
- Create detailed technical drawings and blueprints for furniture designs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production teams to refine product specifications and ensure manufacturability.
- Interpret and incorporate client feedback and design modifications into revised drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
- Maintain organized digital files and documentation for all projects, including version control and revision histories.
- Assist in prototyping and testing phases by providing accurate dimensions and material specifications.
- Identify and resolve potential design flaws or production challenges before manufacturing begins.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in furniture design, materials, and drafting technologies.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in technical drafting, preferably in furniture manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of technical drawing standards, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precise measurements.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Portfolio showcasing previous drafting work is a plus.
