Responsibility
- Develop and execute creative, nutritious, and appealing menus for the MBG program, ensuring alignment with health and dietary guidelines.
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals using fresh, locally sourced ingredients while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with nutritionists and program coordinators to ensure meals meet nutritional requirements and program objectives.
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, food storage, and waste reduction to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a team-oriented and productive work environment.
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring all tools and appliances are in excellent working condition.
- Adhere to budgetary guidelines while maintaining the quality and presentation of all dishes.
- Stay updated with culinary trends, nutritional science, and best practices in food preparation and presentation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, preferably in a health-focused or institutional setting.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and food safety regulations.
- Creative mindset with the ability to design menus that are both nutritious and appealing.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership abilities to mentor and manage kitchen staff effectively.
- Familiarity with inventory management and cost-control techniques.
- Certification in culinary arts, nutrition, or a related field is a plus.
