Responsibility
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages, pour-over coffee, and specialty drinks according to Flinders Lane Cafe standards.
- Provide friendly, attentive, and personalized customer service to create a welcoming café experience.
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment, including grinders, espresso machines, and brewing tools, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
- Educate customers about coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles to enhance their appreciation.
- Manage cash transactions, process orders accurately, and handle POS systems efficiently.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing café environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory management, including stocking supplies and monitoring coffee bean levels.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a barista or in a customer service role within the hospitality industry (preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and POS operations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- A positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and willingness to learn and grow.
- Familiarity with café health and safety standards is a plus.
