Responsibility
- Operate and maintain coffee roasting equipment to produce consistent, high-quality roasts.
- Source, evaluate, and select premium green coffee beans based on origin, quality, and flavor profiles.
- Develop and refine roast profiles to highlight the unique characteristics of each coffee variety.
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages, including espresso, pour-over, cold brew, and milk-based drinks, with precision and artistry.
- Monitor inventory levels of green beans, roasted coffee, and supplies, and place orders as needed.
- Train and mentor junior baristas on brewing techniques, equipment operation, and customer service best practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Engage with customers to educate them about coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor notes, enhancing their overall experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista or Coffee Roaster in a specialty coffee shop, roastery, or similar environment.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee varieties, roasting techniques, and brewing methods (e.g., V60, Aeropress, French Press, Siphon).
- Ability to operate and calibrate commercial roasting machines (e.g., Probat, Loring, or similar).
- Strong sensory skills to assess coffee quality, including cupping and flavor profiling.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a passion for sharing coffee knowledge.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy bags of coffee (up to 30 kg), and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in coffee (e.g., SCA Barista or Roasting modules) is a plus.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Indonesian is beneficial but not required.
