ByteDance is seeking a talented Production System Engineer to join our dynamic Infrastructure Engineering team. The Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for building and operating hyperscale datacenters that support ByteDance's rapid growth. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our production systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust infrastructure solutions that power our global platforms.
This position is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about solving complex technical challenges. Whether you're based in Canggu, Ubud, or any of Bali's tech-friendly hubs, you'll have the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid setting.
Responsibility
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable production systems to support ByteDance's global infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Implement and maintain security best practices for production environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system uptime.
- Document system architectures, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in system engineering, infrastructure operations, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team.
