Responsibility
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services for an international maritime fleet.
- Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Lead sourcing initiatives for maritime equipment, spare parts, and services, ensuring alignment with operational and budgetary requirements.
- Collaborate with logistics, finance, and operations teams to streamline procurement processes and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier innovations to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and KPI tracking, to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, leveraging technology and data-driven insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related field. A Masterâs degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or logistics, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in maritime procurement, shipping, or logistics is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contracts and reducing procurement costs.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and process optimization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin) are an advantage.
