Responsibility
- Curate and maintain an exceptional wine list tailored to Piveneās clientele and seasonal offerings.
- Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings to enhance dining experiences.
- Conduct wine tastings, educational sessions, and events for guests and staff.
- Manage inventory, track stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure premium selection.
- Train and mentor service staff on wine knowledge, service standards, and sales techniques.
- Develop relationships with local and international wine producers to source exclusive labels.
- Oversee proper wine storage, handling, and service protocols to maintain quality.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to design wine-paired menus and special promotions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward, or in a high-end beverage service role (2+ years preferred).
- Certification from a recognized wine institution (e.g., WSET Level 2/3, Court of Master Sommeliers) is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Old and New World wines, including emerging regions and trends.
- Exceptional palate, with the ability to assess wine quality and identify flaws.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage guests and build rapport.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, French, Mandarin) are advantageous.
