Responsibility
- Develop, optimize, and maintain electroplating and surface finishing processes to meet quality, cost, and efficiency targets.
- Conduct root cause analysis for plating defects and implement corrective actions to improve yield and consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Production, QA) to integrate new plating technologies and materials.
- Design and execute DOE (Design of Experiments) to validate process improvements and new plating formulations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations for chemical handling and waste management.
- Monitor and analyze plating bath chemistry, adjusting parameters to maintain optimal performance.
- Train and mentor technicians on best practices for plating operations and troubleshooting.
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate records of process parameters and test results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electroplating, surface finishing, or metal treatment industries.
- Strong knowledge of plating chemistries (e.g., nickel, gold, copper, zinc) and surface treatment techniques.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Experience with analytical tools (e.g., SEM, XRD, thickness gauges) and lab testing for quality validation.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to write technical reports and present findings.
