Responsibility
- Greet and seat guests with a warm, professional demeanor, ensuring a welcoming first impression.
- Take and accurately relay customer orders to the kitchen, including special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, adhering to Chin Huat’s high standards of presentation and service.
- Assist with setting up and clearing tables, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
- Handle cash and card transactions, providing accurate change and receipts as needed.
- Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
- Uphold hygiene and safety standards, including proper food handling and adherence to restaurant policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or customer service role is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse clientele.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during weekend rushes.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, with a willingness to learn about seafood dishes.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to flexible weekend shifts (3 half-days per week).
- Friendly, approachable, and team-oriented attitude.
