Responsibility
- Deliver engaging and effective Japanese language instruction to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students in a business context.
- Develop and update course materials, including lesson plans, assessments, and interactive learning activities tailored to business communication.
- Incorporate cultural nuances and real-world business scenarios to enhance language proficiency and practical application.
- Assess student performance through exams, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to align curriculum with NBSâs academic standards and industry needs.
- Utilize digital tools and platforms to facilitate remote teaching and maintain high student engagement.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current with pedagogical best practices.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and cultural exchange.
Qualifications
- Masterâs degree or higher in Japanese Language, Linguistics, Education, Business, or a related field.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent) and fluent English communication skills.
- Proven experience (minimum 3+ years) in teaching Japanese as a foreign language, preferably in a business or academic setting.
- Familiarity with business Japanese terminology and its application in professional contexts.
- Strong classroom management and remote teaching skills, with experience using LMS (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) or virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams).
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities to connect with diverse student populations.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, remote academic environment.
- Prior experience in curriculum development or business language training is a plus.
