Responsibility

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction tests, to assess visual acuity and diagnose refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses) based on patient needs and ensure accurate fitting and adjustment.
  • Detect, monitor, and manage eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration in collaboration with ophthalmologists.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care, lens maintenance, and preventive measures to maintain optimal vision health.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Collaborate with optical dispensers to ensure patients receive high-quality, customized eyewear solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry, including new diagnostic technologies and treatment methodologies.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and health campaigns to promote eye health awareness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optometry (S1 Optometry) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Valid professional license to practice as an Optometrist in Indonesia (STR).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in optometry or refraction (fresh graduates with exceptional skills will be considered).
  • Proficiency in using autorefractors, slit lamps, tonometry, and other optometric diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese) are a plus.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in optometry.
