Responsibility
- Assist ophthalmologists in conducting comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and refractometry.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as retinal imaging, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual field testing.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterilized, calibrated, and ready for use.
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care, eye health, and the proper use of corrective lenses or medications.
- Document patient medical histories, test results, and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist with minor surgical procedures, including preparing instruments and ensuring patient comfort.
- Manage inventory of clinical supplies and coordinate with vendors for restocking as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Ophthalmic Technology, Optometry, or a related field (e.g., Certified Ophthalmic Technician - COT).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or in a similar role within a clinical or hospital setting.
- Proficiency in operating ophthalmic equipment such as autorefractors, tonometers, and fundus cameras.
- Strong knowledge of eye anatomy, common eye diseases, and treatment protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict hygiene and safety protocols.
- Basic computer skills for EHR management and data entry.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is a plus.
