Responsibility
- Lead and manage a team of hardware operations specialists, ensuring high performance, accountability, and professional development.
- Oversee day-to-day data center operations, including hardware deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and enforce operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with Google's standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and IT teams to optimize data center performance, reliability, and security.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive operational efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external partners for hardware procurement, repairs, and upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the data center facility.
- Develop and execute contingency plans to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in data center operations, hardware management, or IT infrastructure.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performing technical teams.
- In-depth knowledge of data center technologies, server hardware, networking, and cooling systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 27001, or other industry-standard frameworks for IT service management.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and adapt to evolving technologies.
