Responsibility

  • Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from design handoff to full-scale production, ensuring alignment between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, test procedures, and workflows to optimize production efficiency and product reliability.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to review product designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), providing actionable feedback.
  • Conduct risk assessments and failure mode analysis (FMEA) to identify potential issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Coordinate pilot runs and first-article inspections to validate product performance and manufacturing readiness.
  • Monitor and report on NPI project timelines, budgets, and KPIs, ensuring adherence to milestones and stakeholder expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing production data, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control protocols throughout the NPI lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or product development, preferably in electronics, automotive, or precision engineering sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new products from prototype to mass production in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA principles, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), PLM systems, and Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills to liaise between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant quality standards is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
