Responsibility
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on moulds and tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with moulds, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities that align with production demands and minimize disruptions.
- Conduct regular inspections of moulds and tooling to identify wear and tear, and recommend repairs or replacements as needed.
- Document maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and modifications, to maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement.
- Work with engineering teams to optimize mould designs and improve tooling efficiency and durability.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during all maintenance activities.
- Train and mentor junior technicians or production staff on best practices for mould handling and basic maintenance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mould Maintenance Specialist, Tooling Technician, or similar role in a manufacturing or plastic injection moulding environment.
- Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related field; additional certifications in mould maintenance are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes, tooling, and equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment for mould maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints related to moulds and tooling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they impact production.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
