Responsibility
- Provide one-on-one support to children with special needs in a Montessori classroom setting, ensuring their safety, engagement, and participation in daily activities.
- Collaborate with lead Montessori teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each childâs unique learning needs.
- Assist children in developing fine motor skills, cognitive abilities, social interactions, and emotional regulation through Montessori materials and activities.
- Monitor and document each childâs progress, providing regular updates to parents, teachers, and school leadership.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by encouraging independence, confidence, and a love for learning in all children.
- Adapt classroom materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of children with varying abilities, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with parents, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each childâs development.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in special education and Montessori methods.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in an educational or therapeutic setting.
- Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and methods is highly desirable; certification or training in Montessori education is a plus.
- Strong understanding of child development, learning differences, and behavioral strategies for supporting children with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and independence.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia or other languages is a bonus.
