Responsibility
- Operate and maintain Optical Measurement Machines (OMM) and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure accurate and precise measurements.
- Develop and implement metrology procedures and standards to enhance product quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve manufacturing processes.
- Perform regular calibration and maintenance of metrology equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Analyze measurement data and generate reports to support quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
- Train and mentor junior staff on the proper use of metrology tools and techniques.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in metrology technology and recommend upgrades or new equipment as needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to metrology and quality control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Metrologist or Metrology Engineer, with hands-on experience in operating OMM and CMM.
- Strong knowledge of metrology principles, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and quality control standards.
- Proficiency in metrology software and tools, such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certification in metrology or quality management (e.g., ASQ CQE) is a plus.
