Responsibility
- Perform laboratory tests and analyses to diagnose tuberculosis (TB) and other infectious diseases.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
- Prepare and analyze patient samples, including blood, sputum, and tissue specimens.
- Document and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret findings and support patient care.
- Adhere to laboratory protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in research projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train and mentor junior staff or interns as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of TB diagnostics, microbiology, and laboratory techniques.
- Proficiency in using laboratory information systems (LIS) and automated equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189).
