Responsibility
- Manage a diverse caseload of patient accounts, coordinating all aspects of their medical care.
- Liaise effectively with patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of medical claims, billing, and necessary documentation.
- Educate patients on their healthcare benefits, treatment options, and financial responsibilities.
- Advocate for patients' needs, ensuring access to appropriate care and resources.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Review medical necessity for services and facilitate authorizations as required.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related medical field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Medical Case Manager, Medical Biller, or similar role in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding (ICD-10, CPT), and claims submission.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on empathy and clarity.
- Ability to navigate complex healthcare systems and insurance policies effectively.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) / Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A compassionate and patient-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
