As a Mechanical Engineer in this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining, inspecting, and enhancing mechanical components of trains and rail infrastructure. This position offers a unique blend of technical challenge and the chance to work in one of the world’s most dynamic and culturally rich locations—Bali. Whether you're based in Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, or Kuta, you’ll contribute to projects that keep the region’s rail networks running smoothly.
With a competitive salary range of $3,600 – $4,800 per month, this full-time role is perfect for engineers passionate about mechanical systems, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibility
- Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on train mechanical systems, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures or malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and operations staff, to resolve complex technical issues.
- Document maintenance activities, prepare technical reports, and maintain accurate records of repairs and replacements.
- Recommend and oversee the procurement of spare parts, tools, and equipment to support maintenance operations.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations during all maintenance and repair activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability and performance of railway systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the railway, transportation, or heavy machinery industries.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and diagnostic tools used in rail maintenance.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA) and regulatory compliance in railway operations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Willingness to travel or relocate within Bali (e.g., Denpasar, Ubud, Canggu) as required by project needs.
