Responsibility
- Lead the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for construction projects.
- Develop and review M&E drawings, specifications, and BOQs in coordination with architects and structural engineers.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and international best practices (e.g., NFPA, IEC, ASHRAE).
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor selection, negotiations, and performance to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and quality audits to verify adherence to technical specifications and project requirements.
- Manage budget tracking, cost control, and value engineering for M&E components to optimize project profitability.
- Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to align M&E works with overall construction timelines and milestones.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during construction, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in M&E management for building construction, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing M&E projects valued at $5M+ from inception to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, electrical distribution, plumbing, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with BIM (Revit, AutoCAD MEP) and project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Strong contract negotiation and vendor management skills with a focus on cost efficiency.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience working in Southeast Asia or tropical climates is highly advantageous.
