Responsibility
- Lead and coordinate a team of draftsmen to produce accurate and high-quality mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Review and validate technical drawings for compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of designs into manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain a standardized drafting workflow to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to create, modify, and optimize mechanical designs.
- Manage project timelines and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Train and mentor junior draftsmen, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Maintain organized documentation of all drafting projects, revisions, and approvals for audit and reference purposes.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma (D3) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Proven 5+ years of experience in mechanical drafting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or coordination role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and strong technical drawing skills.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities to manage cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in complex designs.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is an advantage.
