As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a pivotal role in developing detailed mechanical design drawings, precise calculations, and advanced BIM (Building Information Modeling) models for a variety of building services projects. Responsibility
- Develop detailed mechanical design drawings for MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Create and maintain BIM models to ensure accurate visualization and coordination of mechanical systems with other disciplines.
- Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts to meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate mechanical designs seamlessly into overall building plans.
- Review and interpret technical specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA) to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical submittals for client approval and construction phases.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify design implementation and resolve field-related issues.
- Optimize mechanical systems for energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability in alignment with project goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for MEP systems, preferably in building services or construction.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM 360 or similar design and modeling software.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including design principles and industry standards.
- Experience with load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection for mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with local and international building codes (e.g., IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced project environments.
