Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and monitor maritime safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with international and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments of maritime operations, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with technical teams to optimize vessel performance, maintenance schedules, and operational efficiency.
- Provide expert guidance on maritime technical issues, including navigation, cargo handling, and emergency response protocols.
- Coordinate with port authorities, shipping companies, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless and safe maritime operations.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures to enhance safety and reduce downtime.
- Train and mentor staff on maritime safety practices, technical procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement in maritime operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maritime safety, technical operations, or a related role within the shipping or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code) and local compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Certifications such as ISM Internal Auditor, ISPS, or STCW are highly desirable.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
