Responsibility
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on marine vessels to ensure optimal performance and seaworthiness.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on vessels and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with marine engineers and crew members to plan and execute maintenance schedules.
- Conduct thorough testing of vessel systems, including propulsion, navigation, and safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental protocols.
- Provide technical support and guidance to vessel operators and crew on best practices for equipment care.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in marine engineering technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in marine vessel maintenance and repair.
- Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic mechanisms.
- Familiarity with maritime safety regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM Code.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and onboard vessels.
