Responsibility
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with global suppliers for vessel equipment, spare parts, and operational materials to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, conducting regular performance reviews and contract renewals.
- Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks to proactively mitigate disruptions.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define procurement specifications and ensure compliance with maritime industry standards.
- Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies to maintain seamless operations.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives through bulk purchasing, alternative sourcing, and supplier consolidation.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, including budget tracking, savings analysis, and supplier performance metrics.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical sourcing practices, and international trade regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the maritime, shipping, or manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record of negotiating contracts and achieving cost reductions with suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and INCOTERMS is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Indonesian) are advantageous.
