Responsibility
- Design and develop marine piping systems for ships, including hydraulic, fuel, cooling, and ballast systems, using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Aveva Marine, or similar).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure piping designs integrate seamlessly with structural, electrical, and mechanical ship systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to optimize piping layouts for performance, safety, and cost-efficiency.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation in compliance with international maritime standards (e.g., DNV, ABS, IMO).
- Perform hydraulic calculations, pressure drop analyses, and material selection to ensure system reliability under marine conditions.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems during ship construction and retrofitting projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to piping systems during sea trials and operational phases.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in marine piping engineering to drive innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in marine piping design, shipyard operations, or related engineering roles.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and piping design tools (Aveva Marine, CADMATIC, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, classification society rules (DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register), and industry standards.
- Experience with hydraulic system design, material selection, and corrosion prevention in marine environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced shipyard environment.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to shipyard sites and work on-site as required.
