Responsibility
- Coordinate and manage the shipping of steel structure materials from China to Malaysia, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
- Oversee customs clearance processes, including documentation, duties, and taxes, to facilitate smooth importation.
- Liaise with CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) and other regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to local construction and logistics standards.
- Manage on-site unstuffing, inspection, and distribution of materials to project locations.
- Monitor and optimize logistics costs, including freight, handling, and storage expenses.
- Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve logistics challenges and delays.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventories, and logistics activities for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Travel to project sites and supplier locations as needed to ensure operational efficiency and quality control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics, customs clearance, or international trade, preferably in the construction or steel industry.
- Strong knowledge of CIDB regulations, customs procedures, and import/export documentation.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with stakeholders in China and Malaysia.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and partners.
