Responsibility
- Oversee and manage end-to-end import/export operations, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize customs clearance processes, reducing delays and costs.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective shipping.
- Interpret and apply Incoterms and international trade laws to mitigate risks and ensure legal compliance.
- Analyze shipping costs, tariffs, and duties to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
- Coordinate cross-border logistics, including documentation, inspections, and regulatory filings.
- Monitor and report on tariff impacts and trade policy changes, advising leadership on potential implications.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, or Customs Broker License) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, customs compliance, or international trade, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of Incoterms, customs regulations, and import/export documentation (e.g., bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists).
- Proven experience working with freight forwarders, customs authorities, and shipping lines.
- Strong analytical skills to assess shipping costs, tariffs, and trade agreements and their financial impact.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, logistics software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia) are advantageous.
