job description

Join a dynamic healthcare team in Bali’s most vibrant communities as a Licensed Psychiatrist, where you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming mental health care. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, evidence-based treatments, and compassionate counseling to a diverse patient population in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Bali’s growing expat and local communities demand high-quality mental health services, and you’ll be at the forefront of delivering personalized care plans that address anxiety, depression, trauma, and other psychological challenges. With a focus on holistic wellness, you’ll work alongside psychologists, therapists, and medical professionals to ensure integrated, patient-centered support.

This role is ideal for a board-certified psychiatrist passionate about making a difference in a culturally rich, fast-paced environment. Whether you’re conducting diagnostic evaluations, prescribing medication, or leading therapy sessions, your expertise will directly impact the well-being of individuals and families across Bali’s most sought-after locations.

Responsibility

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnose mental health disorders using DSM-5 or ICD-10 criteria.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and group therapy sessions for patients with mood disorders, PTSD, addiction, and other conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (psychologists, social workers, primary care physicians) to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed, and maintain detailed clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Educate patients and families on mental health awareness, coping strategies, and preventive care.
  • Participate in case conferences, peer reviews, and professional development to stay current with best practices.
  • Advocate for mental health stigma reduction and community outreach initiatives in Bali.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialization in psychiatry; board certification is required.
  • Valid Indonesian medical license (or eligibility to obtain one) to practice psychiatry.
  • Minimum 3+ years of clinical experience in psychiatric care, preferably in diverse cultural settings.
  • Proficiency in English (fluent); Indonesian language skills are a strong plus.
  • Experience with evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy) and pharmacological interventions.
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills with the ability to assess complex mental health conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients from varied backgrounds.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and continuous professional growth.
