Responsibility
- Lead the architectural design and development of our service mesh platform, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate service mesh solutions into existing and new microservices architectures.
- Optimize performance, latency, and reliability of service-to-service communication within the mesh.
- Implement and enforce best practices for observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting within the service mesh.
- Drive automation and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and management of service mesh components.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies in service mesh, cloud-native architectures, and distributed systems.
- Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure seamless operation and incident response for the service mesh.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in backend software development, with a focus on distributed systems and microservices.
- Proven expertise in service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or Consul.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages like Go, Java, or Python, and experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols, security (mTLS, RBAC), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical discussions and decision-making.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of mentoring and leading engineering teams.
