Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to commercialization, for laser and photonic systems.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and sales teams to define product specifications and performance benchmarks.
- Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and validation testing to ensure product reliability and compliance with industry standards.
- Optimize product performance, cost, and scalability through data-driven engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams, translating market needs into actionable engineering requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation, technical rigor, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in lasers, materials science, and networking to identify opportunities for product differentiation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including patents, whitepapers, and product datasheets.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; PhD preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in product engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (laser/photonics industry is a plus).
- Proven track record of successfully launching complex technical products from concept to mass production.
- Deep expertise in laser systems, optoelectronics, or semiconductor manufacturing with hands-on experience in design, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Zemax), simulation software (COMSOL, Lumerical), and data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB).
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and customers.
- Experience with ISO 9001, FDA, or other regulatory compliance frameworks for high-tech products.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
