Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end PCB design process, from schematic capture to final layout, ensuring compliance with industry standards (IPC, UL, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, QA) to align PCB designs with product requirements and cost targets.
- Optimize PCB layouts for signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal management using advanced simulation tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
- Review and approve design documentation, including BOMs, fabrication drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices in PCB design and DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
- Work closely with customers and suppliers to resolve design issues and ensure seamless production transitions.
- Stay abreast of emerging PCB technologies (HDI, flex/rigid-flex, high-speed digital) and recommend process improvements.
- Conduct design reviews and risk assessments to mitigate potential failures and enhance reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in PCB design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or Mentor PADS).
- Strong knowledge of high-speed digital design, EMI/EMC compliance, and impedance control.
- Experience with multi-layer, HDI, and flex/rigid-flex PCB designs for complex electronic systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (SMT, through-hole) and DFM/DFT principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to liaise with global teams and stakeholders.
- Certifications in IPC-A-600, IPC-2221/2222 or similar standards are a plus.
