Responsibility
- Lead the design and engineering of mechanical building services for life sciences facilities, including HVAC systems, cleanrooms, and specialized air flow management solutions
- Develop and optimize air flow patterns, pressure differentials, and contamination control strategies for GMP-compliant environments
- Oversee the implementation of energy-efficient mechanical systems that meet international standards (ISO 14644, GMP, FDA) while adapting to tropical climate challenges
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and process engineers to integrate mechanical systems into comprehensive building designs
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for mechanical system upgrades and new installations
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and external contractors
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local regulations, international standards, and JDE Peet's corporate sustainability goals
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (PE, CEng) preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical building services engineering, with at least 3 years in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environments
- Proven expertise in HVAC design, cleanroom engineering, and air flow management for controlled environments
- Strong knowledge of international standards (ISO 14644, GMP, FDA) and local Indonesian building codes
- Experience with energy-efficient design principles and sustainable engineering practices in tropical climates
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical system simulation software
- Excellent project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
- Fluency in English; additional languages (Bahasa Indonesia, Dutch) are a plus
