job description
Join Smitech Engineering Pte Ltd as a Lead BIM Coordinator / BIM Manager (M&E) and take the helm of cutting-edge Building Information Modeling (BIM) initiatives for high-impact M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) construction projects in Singapore, with a focus on LTA (Land Transport Authority) infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic team, drive digital transformation in construction, and deliver world-class BIM solutions that enhance project efficiency, collaboration, and sustainability.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire BIM lifecycle—from planning and coordination to execution and clash detection—ensuring seamless integration of M&E systems with architectural and structural designs. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing project workflows, reducing costs, and mitigating risks for large-scale infrastructure developments.
Based in the vibrant regions of Bali (Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Kuta, or Badung), you’ll work remotely with a global team while contributing to Singapore’s most ambitious engineering projects. If you’re a visionary BIM professional with a passion for innovation and a track record in M&E coordination, we want to hear from you!
Responsibility
- Lead and manage BIM coordination for M&E systems across multiple construction projects, ensuring alignment with architectural, structural, and civil designs.
- Develop and implement BIM execution plans (BEP), standards, and workflows to streamline project delivery and enhance collaboration among stakeholders.
- Conduct clash detection and resolution using advanced BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP) to identify and mitigate conflicts before construction.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) BIM models to optimize project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with LTA, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with Singapore’s BIM standards and regulatory requirements.
- Train and mentor junior BIM technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Prepare and present BIM progress reports, visualizations, and as-built documentation to clients and senior management.
- Stay abreast of emerging BIM technologies, trends, and industry best practices to drive innovation in project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., BIM Level 2/3, Autodesk Certified Professional) are a plus.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in BIM coordination/management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role for M&E projects.
- Proven track record of working on LTA or large-scale infrastructure projects in Singapore, with familiarity with local codes and standards.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Solibri, and BIM 360/Accelerate.
- Strong understanding of M&E systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and low-voltage systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills to manage cross-functional teams and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience with 4D/5D BIM applications (e.g., Synchro, Fuzor) and cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., BIM 360, Dalux).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
