Responsibility
- Prepare, organize, and maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and supplies to ensure readiness for experiments and classes.
- Assist researchers, faculty, and students in conducting experiments, including setting up apparatus and recording data.
- Monitor and enforce laboratory safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and waste disposal.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Document laboratory activities, including inventory management, equipment usage logs, and incident reports.
- Support the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with academic staff to prepare demonstrations and practical sessions for students.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with laboratory equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
- Proven experience (1-2 years) as a Laboratory Assistant, Technician, or in a similar role in an academic or research setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards, chemical handling, and equipment operation.
- Proficiency in using laboratory instruments such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and autoclaves.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow complex procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with laboratory management software.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with researchers and students.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is a plus.
