As a Junior Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Tax Department with accurate and timely tax reporting, compliance, and financial analysis. Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly and annual tax reports, including Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT) summaries and other BIR-mandated filings.
- Support the Tax Department in ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and withholding tax requirements.
- Reconcile tax-related accounts and ensure accuracy in financial records, working closely with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain tax documentation, including tax returns, schedules, and supporting work papers, for audit and review purposes.
- Assist in the calculation and remittance of monthly and quarterly tax payments, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data for tax reporting and analysis, including payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger information.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and assist in implementing necessary adjustments to tax processes and procedures.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax reporting.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing one).
- 1-2 years of experience in tax accounting, general accounting, or auditing (internships or part-time roles are acceptable).
- Basic knowledge of Philippine tax laws and BIR regulations (experience with Indonesian tax laws is a plus but not required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude, with a willingness to take on new challenges and grow within the role.
