Responsibility
- Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools and other security platforms in real-time.
- Investigate and triage potential security incidents, escalating high-priority threats to senior analysts as needed.
- Conduct initial analysis of logs, network traffic, and system activities to identify anomalies or malicious behavior.
- Assist in the development and refinement of SOC playbooks, procedures, and documentation to improve incident response efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Participate in regular threat intelligence briefings and stay updated on emerging cybersecurity trends and vulnerabilities.
- Support the maintenance and optimization of SOC tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection systems.
- Prepare and present incident reports, including root cause analysis and recommendations for remediation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Basic understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cybersecurity fundamentals (e.g., CIA triad, OWASP Top 10).
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Elastic), firewalls, or intrusion detection/prevention systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in shift-based environments (including nights/weekends) as part of a 24/7 SOC team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for clear incident reporting and team collaboration.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP (or willingness to obtain) are advantageous.
