Responsibility
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, such as analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges, to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Analyze test results, identify abnormalities, and report findings to medical professionals in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in the preparation of reagents, solutions, and culture media required for laboratory procedures.
- Adhere to strict quality control and assurance procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, including doctors, nurses, and other medical technologists, to support patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of laboratory procedures, test results, and patient data in accordance with institutional policies.
- Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development programs to stay updated with advancements in medical technology and laboratory practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification or licensure as a Medical Technologist (if applicable) or willingness to obtain certification within the first year of employment.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols, with hands-on experience in a clinical or academic laboratory setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret test results and identify discrepancies.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all laboratory procedures and documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with healthcare teams and report findings clearly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including laboratory information systems (LIS) and data management software.
