Responsibility
- Prepare and review Australian individual and business tax returns in compliance with ATO regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Provide tax advisory services to clients, ensuring accurate and timely compliance with Australian tax laws.
- Research and analyze tax legislation to ensure up-to-date knowledge of changes affecting clients.
- Collaborate with senior accountants to resolve complex tax issues and optimize tax strategies.
- Maintain organized client records and documentation for audits and reviews.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial information and provide updates on tax matters.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in Australian taxation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Australian taxation or accounting (internships or entry-level roles considered).
- Familiarity with Australian tax laws, including GST, PAYG, and income tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a remote setting.
- Certification or progress toward CPA, CA, or equivalent is a plus.
