Responsibility
- Provide accurate and professional Japanese-to-English and English-to-Japanese translation for business documents, emails, and meetings.
- Serve as the primary translator during business trips, conferences, and client meetings to ensure clear communication.
- Offer real-time help desk support to resolve technical and operational inquiries from Japanese-speaking clients and colleagues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to localize content, including user manuals, training materials, and marketing collateral.
- Maintain a detailed log of translation requests and help desk interactions for quality assurance and process improvement.
- Assist in onboarding Japanese-speaking employees by providing language and cultural orientation.
- Troubleshoot and escalate complex issues to the appropriate departments while ensuring timely resolution.
- Stay updated on industry terminology, technical jargon, and cultural nuances to deliver precise translations.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Japanese (N2 or higher) and English (written and verbal) with a strong command of business terminology.
- Proven experience in translation, interpretation, or customer support roles, preferably in a tech or corporate setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Familiarity with help desk software, CRM tools, or ticketing systems is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in translations and support.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for business-related assignments (as needed).
- Bachelorâs degree in Linguistics, Communications, IT, or a related field is preferred.
